Dr. Greg Houtsma attended
Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island,
where he earned his veterinary medical degree. Immediately prior to
moving to Warrensburg, Dr. Houtsma worked for 4 1/2 years at a large,
exclusively equine practice. That practice has one of the foremost
embryo transfer programs in the nation, and while working there Dr.
Houtsma gained valuable experience performing embryo transfers.
Dr.
Houtsma is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association,
the American Association of Equine Practicioners, the Missouri Veterinary
Medical Association and the West Central Missouri Veterinary Medical
Association.
While Dr. Houtsma enjoys all facets of equine medicine,
his special interests lie in reproduction and podiatry/lameness work.
In his free time Dr. Houtsma enjoys working on his farm that he shares
with his wife and daughter, as well as their menagerie of animals.
Dr. Houtsma and his wife have a small sport-horse breeding program,
but his true love lies in western performance events, and he enjoys
roping whenever he has a chance.
Dr. Greg Houtsma and the staff at Warrensburg Animal Hospital/Midwest Performance Equine are very happy to welcome Dr. Melissa Page to the practice. Dr. Page grew up in Smithton, Missouri and went on to major in Animal Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She then obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating in 2008. Dr. Page enjoys mixed animal practice and has been working in that capacity since her graduation. Dr. Page currently has two cats of her own (Bennie and Kitten) and enjoys spending her free time with her family (particularly her nieces). Please stop by our hospital to welcome Dr. Page to Warrensburg!
